When I was in sixth grade, I think it was sixth grade, Bohemian Rhapsody, the movie came out. And it must’ve been seventh grade when I was in seventh grade, Bohemian. Rhapsody came out, and I had recently been abandoned by all of my friends and was trying to worm my way into a new friend group at the middle school, which was big cause there were maybe like four friend groups total so and I went to go see Bohemian Rhapsody with this group that I was trying to become friends with and there was a little bit of a fiasco with sneaking snacks into the movie and then we sat there and we watched it and we we had a sleepover at my house and we spent the whole night talking about the movie and all of our favorite parts of it and we invented our own lingo around each of the members of the band as they were portrayed in the movie and I’m still friends with all those people and we still reference it six years later.

My dad never told me what his favorite movie was. He kept being like that was irrelevant like we would like something he was saying oh we gotta watch Nashville and then he would like something would happen and he be like oh kinda like that one scene in Nashville and he had never brought up Nashville before and he was like or like I’d be like I was describing something and then he like that sounds a little bit like Nashville all over the whole summer and I was like I thought okay I don’t care if it’s like Nashville cause I never heard of it before he start over this past summer when he was like everything‘s like Nashville and so then one day family movie night he’s like watch Nashville and he’s been trying to do like a couple family movie night. I brought up Nashville. It’s like three hours long, but at this time, I guess we’re gonna be nice. Yes, we can watch Nashville except so we got the first like two hours of it and I was like kind of lost and I was like you know like and then like we’re like we’re gonna like watch the rest of the time because we’re tired and I was like and I was like like we turned it off and then my whole family we were and I was like I just don’t get it. I feel like I’m not enjoying this. I’m not getting it like what’s the whole point my dad was like you know this is actually my favorite movie and I was like oh and then I felt bad and then we done next couple days like the next time you tried to start watching it again watching it and I was like I was like okay, if it’s my dad‘s favorite movie I gotta give it a better shot and so I was sitting there and I was watching it. I was like, wait, and then all the pieces clicked into place for me. It’s a really, really good movie, and he was so right. I was really happy about it because I feel like his love for it taught me to appreciate it anyway.
